Wedding Gown
I went wedding dress shopping one weekend in October and ended up finding my wedding dress at the first store we went to. I tried on a total of 8 dresses and it was the second one that I kept going back to. I can't wait to try it on again in my size. My fiance is tech-savvy and very nosy so I won't be posting the dress on here but here's another dress that I tried on and liked.
Reception Dress
Because my wedding gown is so big and heavy, I chose to buy another short white dress to change into after dinner and the obligatory dances. It wasn't that expensive and it's very comfortable. I plan on getting some hot pink shoes to wear with it.
Bridesmaids
I have eight wonderful bridesmaids in my bridal party. My bridal party includes:
My mother, who is my matron of honor,
My twin sister, who is my maid of honor,
One of my best friends/roommates from college,
Another very close friend whose husband is my fiance's best friend,
My two future sister-in-laws who I consider very great friends.
Two girlfriends from graduate school
I want to try and make them feel gorgeous and comfortable in their dresses. That is why I have chosen Jim Hjelm as a designer and gave them the following suggestions: keep it floor length, black in color and have the fabric be silk de chine. There's over 10 dresses in that line that they can choose from, that way they can pick the one they feel the best in. I also think a black silk dress is something they can wear again should they choose. They can wear whatever black shoes and jewelry they want. The following dresses are silk de chine from that line. Since they all live in different areas, they can go to the closest Jim Hjelm store and find their own dress without having us all to coordinate.
